I was recruited. Being invited to be a part of a local, well respected company that I loved was very intriguing. After meeting with the management team, in addition to my years of experiences as a customer at Thomas Hammer, I knew this was an endeavor I wanted to be a part of.
This may sound crazy, but hear me out… In today’s world of social media and talking heads, people can be absolutely awful to each other over a keyboard; typing things they would never say to another person’s face. Great conversations happen over a cup of coffee; whether at a coffee shop, at a kitchen table, or around a campfire, people connect and converse with a cup of coffee in hand. If I can do my little part to do more to get people to connect to each other, and re-learn to communicate, even when they disagree, this is my favorite part of what I do.
Operate my own archery shop
Somewhere on the Olympic Peninsula. Mountains, rivers, forests and the coast, it’s where I feel centered.
Be a dad to my two beautiful children, archery, hike, camp, hunt.
A lot of crazy things, not a lot of crazy things I can put on here…
But, when I was 17 I was an exchange student. I left my friends and family, to fly to Finland for my Senior Year. I was 6000 miles away from anyone or anywhere I had ever known. I didn’t know anything about Finland when I chose to go there. I spent 11 months in a foreign country. I collected memories and experiences like some people collect post cards or souvenirs. I would make every decision based on what would make the best story later on.
I’m not sure. I’m a pretty open book. But maybe that I’m not nearly as confident as I often project.
I don’t do favorites. Variety is the spice of life. But I’m binge watching Peaky Blinders right now and am loving it.
My wife. Not only does she put up with me, she is the most graceful, selfless, giving, hard-working, and patient people I have ever known.
