PURSUING THE PERFECT BREW
Thomas Hammer Coffee Roasters was born in 1993 on the campus of Gonzaga University at a time when small-batch coffee roasters were rare in the U.S. Our passion for crafting a sweeter, more complex cup set the foundation for what would become a cornerstone of the Northwest coffee scene.
We take pride in sourcing exceptional coffees from the world’s finest micro-climates, handpicked to deliver a flavor profile that stands out. Then, we artfully roast them the same way we always have—using precision German roasters. We take the time to pull small samples, trusting our senses to reveal every layer of aroma and taste that makes each batch unique.
While specialty coffee is a luxury, we’ve always believed it should be an affordable one. Anyone can be a Thomas Hammer Coffee customer, and no one should have to break the bank to enjoy their morning brew. We charge less for the same high-quality beans as your favorite specialty roasters, without sacrificing the craftsmanship that goes into each roast.
From retail to wholesale, Thomas Hammer Coffee Roasters leads with quality and customer-first service. We invite you to join us on this journey—whether you’re a home brewer or a café owner, we’ll help you find the perfect brew. Want to see where the magic happens? Executive Team

Thomas Hammer
CEO/Owner
As Founder and CEO, I prefer to let the coffee—and the team—take center stage. I’m the creative force behind the brand, quietly shaping everything from the beans we roast to the culture we build. Always ready with a sports analogy, I’m more about setting up the play than taking the shot. After all, great coffee, like great teams, is all about the right strategy and execution.

David Kastle
COO
As COO, I keep THCR running smoother than a shot of espresso. Fresh coffee? Stocked. Bakery? Cranking out the Columbia Plateau’s best breakfast burritos. Baristas? Trained. Managers? Supported. I even make sure the delivery vans have gas and air in the tires—because nothing gets between us and a good cup of coffee.

Tori Hershey
CFO
As CFO, my job is simple: keep THCR thriving and far, far away from bankruptcy court. I balance budgets, crunch numbers, and make sure every dollar works as hard as our baristas. Behind the scenes, I’m the guardrail between financial chaos and caffeinated success—because great coffee doesn’t brew on empty accounts.

Amanda Millican
Director of Sales
As Director of Sales—and the second longest-serving employee here (with absolutely zero resentment for not being first)—I make sure our coffee gets into the right hands, whether that’s retail shelves, Costco carts, or wholesale menus. I’m part coffee matchmaker, part deal closer, and when I’m not sealing the next big sale, I’m wrangling regulatory compliance to keep us on the straight and narrow. Great coffee, great partnerships, and no red tape—just how I like it.

Chris Anderson
Director of Innovation and Training
As Director of Training and Innovation, I’ve spent 20 years transforming over 1,000 baristas into drink-making artists—because coffee deserves more than just “hot bean water.” I create a culture of positivity, creativity, and the occasional drink so bold it earns a polite “maybe not next time.” Outside the espresso machine trenches, I moonlight as the office karaoke star, proving I can hit high notes as well as I hit training goals. Like a good apple fritter, I’m sweet, a little crisp, and always leave an impression.

Sarah Hull
Corporate Trainer
I teach baristas and wholesale teams to talk about coffee like it’s their soulmate—origin stories, quirks, and all. When I’m not coaching the next coffee genius, I’m running our specialty program, writing educational content, and making sure every batch has a backstory juicier than a soap opera.

Kellie Gutman
Bookkeeper/Purchasing
As Bookkeeper and Purchasing Manager, I keep THCR’s numbers in line and our inventory stocked—because running out of coffee is simply not an option. I’m also the unofficial office party planner and a ruthless competitor in our annual big-money bingo game. The only thing worse than losing bingo? A surprise goat visit to the office—because animals creep me out.

Emily Tyree
Customer Relations Specialist
As Customer Relationship Manager, I’m here to keep our customers happy and coming back for more. I assist the Director of Sales with customer service and retention, ensuring our partnerships run as smoothly as a fresh pour-over (even if I secretly prefer animals to people). Think of me as the bridge between THCR and our customers—minus the wagging tail, but just as loyal.
